Linda Chung in new TVB Drama Lucky Fahter
Yesterday, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Steven Ma (馬浚偉), Ha Yu (夏雨) and the rest of the cast and crew held a praying ceremony for new TVB drama, Lucky Father "當旺爸爸". Earlier on, when Linda and Steven were shooting an accident scene for Lucky Father, a passerby thought that an actual accident had occurred and called the police. When mentioned, Linda replied that she felt that the accident scene was probably too realistic, thus misleading people to think that it was real. Linda expressed that she was shocked when the police suddenly arrived at the scene on that fateful day.
Ran Until Feet Hurt When Filming Chasing Criminals Scene
Linda will have romantic developments with three men in the drama and they include Steven Ma, Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿) and Edwin Siu (蕭正楠). Will she have kissing scenes with all of them ? Linda responded, “Fathers are the main topic of this warm-hearted drama. As romantic love isn’t the primarily focus here, no kissing scenes will likely be imposed. It was rather challenging as this is the first time I’m acting as a policewoman. As I often have to film criminal-chasing scenes, I suffered from a lack of sleep but still had to film from morning until night the very day, running until my legs were numb and in pain.”
Did Linda prefer filming kissing scenes or criminal chasing scenes? Linda laughed and said, “It’s most important for the effect to be good. All three of them are good men.” (Reporter: Which one of them fits your criteria of a boyfriend?) “Each of them have their own strengths. I have the most chemistry with Steven Ma since we have collaborated five times now. Lai Lok Yi is my good friend. Edwin Siu is a nice guy. However, I will not develop with any of them. Acting is purely acting; I keep private life separate from work.”
In other news, Tracy Ip (葉翠翠) was rumored to have turned down TVB actor, Benjamin Yuen’s (韋家雄) pursuit of love. In reply to this, Tracy silently admitted to it, “We previously filmed 4 In Love together and in that drama, his character really likes me. During filming, he was just going into character. After filming, nothing happened between us. We didn’t communicate or even went on any date after that.” Tracy Ip clarified that she did not mind dating shorter guys than herself but preferred that her boyfriend was not from the entertainment circle.

He said: "Actually since last year, we already started preparing for the wedding, but all along we couldn't find a suitable location to host the occasion. Janet recently said why don't we just marry in Australia without anyone, just the two of us. Then we'll come back and hold the banquet. Parents of both sides agreed, my father (Sammo Hung) doesn't mind because he's busy shooting a new film and will only have time in January of next year."
Timmy is prepared to buy a 1 carat diamond ring valued at HK$20,000 to marry Janet. In the future when he earns more money, he will add more to the gifts. Andy Lau and Deanie Ip in film A Simple Life
Director Ann Hui’s (许鞍华) A Simple Life starring Andy Lau (刘德华) and Deanie Ip (叶德娴), centers around a master-servant relationship between a son and a mother. A Simple Life premiered at the 68th Annual Venice Film Festival on September 5th. Director Ann Hui, the film’s producer, Andy Lau, Deanie Ip, Qin Hailu (秦海璐), and other veterans walked the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival earlier this week.
A Simple Life was one of the four short-listed Chinese language films competing for the coveted Golden Lion Award and the second Chinese language film to make its appearance at the Venice Film Festival, following the lukewarm media reception of Seedig Bale "赛德克-巴莱". Based on the published score thus far, Seedig Bale came in the last place among the screened films.
Based on the media and audience reaction at the premiere, A Simple Life was more successful. When the film ended, the entire audience rose to a standing ovation. The reporter reflected on some of the film’s transitions, coupled with the slow pace of the subject matter, which led to the early departure of certain members of the media. However, it was understood that the domestic release of the mainland China version of A Simple Life will run at 117 minutes in length, which was slightly shorter than the version shown at the Venice Film Festival.
Deanie Ip’s performance in the film won the appreciation of many media outlets. Deanie was considered to be the strongest contender for the Best Actress Award to-date.

Michael Tse and Kate Tsui in Lives of Omission
TVB series Lives of Omission is currently a popular hit, making Michael Tse and Kate Tsui the target on magazine reports. It was said after Stephen Chan resumed his position at TVB, he plans to boost his favorites Wong He and Wayne Lai up for TV King, shattering Michael's dreams. Kate also asked the producer to new series Schemes of East and West to give her more screen time, so she can defeat Fala Chen. However, her plans failed and therefore she withdrew from the series.
Yesterday Michael and Kate took part in the recording of 全城喜動 in Macau. Towards the related reports, Kate had a big reaction and explained: "Never heard of such thing. This is quite interesting, I did discuss a script and role with Producer Tommy Leung, but because of schedule conflicts, I couldn't take part in the series. (You don't want to collaborate with Fala?) No such thing, why would that be so? We just completed a series together. (Is it not 'if there is her, then there is no you'?) Why would that be? TVB already has a shortage of people, so they are happy when there are more people coming. Perhaps there will be more time to earn some extra money. (Fala is your greatest opponent for this year's TV Queen title?) I know I already have 5 series broadcast this year, but I personally support Myolie Wu. I heard her performance in Queen of All is awesome."
Michael just expressed: "I don't have to comment on this, there are too many of these fabricated news. (Stephen Chan made everyone in TVB split in groups and parties again?) In fact it is not Mr. Chan splitting the groups on his own, it is the public that is helping him do so. I feel that we all have the same goal, and that is to work for TVB."

Sharon Chan as leading role in series Schemes of East and West
Accused of being in the 'Stephen Party', TVB FaDans Sharon Chan and Fala Chen took part in the costume fitting for new series Schemes of East and West with Roger Kwok. Sharon was asked if its because she's Stephen Chan's favorite that she got the opportunity to take on the leading role? Sharon said: "Not related, this series was set several months ago. (Are you a loyal member of the 'Stephen Party'?) He is a good boss, friend and my mentor. He taught me how to be a host. We aren't in any party, just being ourselves." As part of the 'Stephen Party', Sharon sweet talked and thanked Virgina Lok for helping her fight for the opportunity to portray this role. When speaking of it being a benefit to her, now that Stephen is back in TVB? She said: "Didn't think about that. I am already thankful that he's fine. I was worried for a long time because before I was a 'witness' and it wasn't convenient for me to say too much. Now it's a sign of relief. I have SMS him and he replied that everything is going well."
As for Fala, she plays Chung Mo Yim. She expressed she has been mindful of Stephen's return, asked if she's part of the 'Stephen Party'? She joked: "Before they said I was part of the Tsang Jeh party (Catherine Tsang), then the Miss Lok party (Virgina Lok), I have been in all of the parties except for the villain party." Roger Kwok said he congratulates Stephen having new hopes after a disastrous period. He said: "We were familiar for a period before, but later I had to look after my son and shoot in Mainland, so we didn't keep in touch as much."
Also, yesterday Fala started shooting outdoor scenes for the new series and coincidentally encountered Film King Chow Yun Fat, who had paid attention to her performances before. Fala was jumping in joy when she saw him and asked for a photo together to post on Weibo. She wrote: "Fat Gor stood behind me and watched me perform. I worked hard trying to concentrate, aiya, so pressuring!" Koni Lui also got to take a photo with Chow Yun Fat.

Jay Chou dating model Hanny Quinlivan
Taiwanese singer Jay Chou has been rumoured to be dating model Hannah Quinlivan for some time now.
However, the pair had always played coy when it comes to the state of their relationship. Jay even challenged the media, saying, "Talk when you manage to photograph us."
Recently, Jay treated his mother to a holiday in Europe for 10 days. At the same time, Hannah had requested leave from her company, to celebrate her 18th birthday abroad.
A couple of days ago, an eyewitness revealed that Jay was spotted in Paris, together with his mother and a young girl, who was speculated to be Hannah.
Both Jay and Hannah's management agencies refused to disclose the details of the couple's trip, citing it was a "personal schedule".
On Aug 20, the pop star returned to Taiwan with his mother. Hannah was also spotted with the pair.
Jay whipped out his phone and started taking photos of the media, when they started to approach him. He later uploaded the video clip on his friend's microblog, to vent his dissatisfaction.
On the other hand, Hannah pushed her cap low and kept her head down while she texted and made calls, all the time ignoring the media.
While Jay and Hannah refused to confirm their relationship, the pair was spotted using matching bags, fuelling speculations that they are currently dating each other.
When reporters asked Jay's mother if she was satisfied with Jay's new girlfriend, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry. Thank you."

Ariel Lin and Chen Bolin promote drama In Time With You
The cast and crew of “In Time With You,” an idol drama that will soon start showing in Taiwan, arrived on Aug. 18 in Singapore for location shooting. The team yesterday (Aug. 19) held a press conference at the Marina Bay Sands, kicking off it’s first wave of publicity.
During the presscon, aside from lead actors Ariel Lin, Chen Bolin, Sunny Wang and Chen Kuang-yi, special guests stars Joanne Tseng, Jessica Liu and Malaysian singer Fang Jiong Bin were also present.
Director Winnie Chu said he had traveled to Guam, Hong Kong and China, but finally decided on Singapore to shoot some scenes.
He explained: “Singapore gives a me a passionate, warm feeling, as well as a very modern feel. Because of the different races [living here], there’s this feeling of closeness. And it’s very orderly here.”
The crew also revealed that every time Winnie shot a scene, he would look at the screen and exclaim “Singapore is so beautiful! We were right to come here.”
Ariel talks about what she thinks is a ‘good man’
Ariel, who hasn’t done an idol drama in three years, is meeting her fans again with her comeback drama “In Time With You.”
In the drama, Ariel plays a woman who had just turned 30, Cheng You Qing. Because of her bet with her good friend for 14 years, Li Da Ren (Chen Bolin) – that whoever gets married first before they turn 35 will get a “hongbao” (red envelope, cash gift) of NT$100,000 (about US$3,500) – You Qing has started looking for a prospective marriage partner.
Having known each other for seven years and worked together in three dramas, Winnie and Ariel are like family.
At the press conference, Winnie loudly praised Ariel, saying that aside from being an actress that he trusts [feels comfortable with, need not worry about], she is also a very intelligent and mature woman. At the same time, Ariel is very good at using her experience in life and making it a part of her performance.
During the interview, Ariel said she chose “In Time With You” because You Qing’s situation is very similar to where she is at this stage in life. However, she humorously stressed: "I am not yet 30 oh!”
You Qing had a target of getting married at “28,” does Ariel also have a similar goal?
She paused for a moment and then said: “ I haven’t set a target age for getting married, but [marriage is something that will happen] sooner or later. Just let nature take its course! I’m not used to sharing [my feelings].”
When asked what kind of man does she consider to be a “good man,” she said without hesitation, someone who shares her interests, who has a goal in life would be considered a good man.
She then added: "Our interests need not be all the same, but he should be able to make you wholly a part of his life, like his friends, family and things that he often does.”
While Ariel is very protective about her love life, when she answers questions about it, one couldn’t help but see the happiness and joy on her face.
Sunny falls in love with acting
Sunny first got known as the rumored boyfriend of Elva Hsiao. This is the first time he’s doing an idol drama and he said he felt lucky that he’s doing with veterans like Ariel and Bolin.
In the drama, Sunny planys Ding Li Wei, Cheng You Qing’s former boyfriend and Li Da Ren’s romantic rival.
Asked about the most memorable scene he’s done, Sunny said: “The first one we filmed, because I hit Chen Bolin [in that scene]”
This being his first drama, Sunny has learned a lot, such as when shooting a scene, one has to be conscious of the different camera angles and shots. He added that Ariel and Bolin had helped him so much and were very good at helping him get into character.
There’s always a first time, and after this first experience, Sunny said: "I love acting.” [he spoke in English]
As such, he hopes viewers can see his potential, giving him more opportunities to act.
How would the director rate Sunny’s acting?
Winnie said: “He has this kind of fatal attraction. His acting is very relaxed. There was this 5-minute scene which we shot three times, but in the end, I think we still chose the second one? At the time, I felt that he has graduated from one level into another.”
Such high praise from the director, an affirmation of Sunny’s acting.
Chen Kuang-yi is a born actress
A graduate of National Taiwan University, Chen Kuang-yi is quiet and looks more like the scholarly type – an intelligent beauty. This is her first time to act and she’s already won the role of the second female lead.
In the drama, she plays Maggie who likes Da Ren and views him as a marriage target. Chen said Maggie is more lively and pro-active in pursuing guys – her personality is quite different from hers.
She said: "To prepare for this drama, I had to look for something that I and my character share.”
At first glance, Chen looks like Vivian Chow. Chen said, people had said the same thing when she was a kid but she didn’t really give it much thought. She only took notice when she entered the entertainment industry.
What’s more, Chen and Vivian even share the same birthday!
"Little Vivian," this moniker, does Chen feel pressured?
Chen said: “She’s an actress that I admire, so the pressure is intense. But I hope I can come into my own.”
Chen and Sunny are alike, both are acting newbies. Winnie said Chen’s a natural-born actress. She just had to do 60%, but already gives off that 100% feeling.
“In Time With You” will be shown every Saturday starting on Sept. 24, 8p.m., be "I may not love you" from September 24 onwards, every Saturday at 8 pm, on Xing He Shi Jie Channel 825.

Yao Yuan Hao is getting closer with Cyndi Wang
Taiwanese singer Cyndi Wang was spotted in Kending, Taiwan with actor Yao Yuan Hao on Jul 31, fueling speculations that the pair was seeing each other.
However, both Cyndi and Yuan Hao have denied the rumour. Yuan Hao said that he had decided to meet Cyndi, after the latter updated her Facebook, saying she was in the area.
On Aug 14, a member of the public tipped off the media again, claiming that Cyndi and Yuan Hao were spotted together at a prawn fishing club in Tamshui District. When reporters arrived at the place, the pair was nowhere in sight.
Workers at the prawn fishing club let on that the couple had left less than 15 minutes earlier.
When reporters probed the club owner, he first admitted to seeing the pair there, before changing his mind later, saying that he "did not know".
The owner later revealed, "Cyndi didn't come but Sonia Sui did (Yuan Hao's ex-girlfriend)."
Upon hearing their boss's reply, the workers became careful with their words. The man changed his statement again and said, "A-Pang and his friends were here earlier."
The club owner's shifty answers made it seemed like Cyndi and Yuan Hao were both at the club.
Yesterday, the pair clarified through their management agencies that they are "just friends and had went prawn fishing with six other friends".
Yuan Hao is known to go prawn fishing with his friends from showbiz.
"His schedule was cancelled that day. A friend happened to ask him to go prawn fishing. Yuan Hao and Cyndi are just friends," the actor's management agency said.
Cyndi's manager also expressed that the singer was "out with her friends, who are not from showbiz". She added that Cyndi and Yuan Hao have mutual friends and it was normal for them to meet.
According to Cyndi's friend, the singer had decided not to date anyone from showbiz after what happened with actor Wing Fan. Wing had posted several intimate photos taken when they were dating.
Cyndi's friends had been introducing her men outside of showbiz. It was speculated that Cyndi must have gone to the club to meet the person when she ran into Yuan Hao.
The friend added that it is impossible for Cyndi and Yuan Hao to have feelings for each other, since they had already known each other for 10 years.

Ron Ng and Viann Zhang talked their rumours over weibo
The bubbling rumors between Ron Ng (吴卓羲) and Viann Zhang (张馨予) has finally been verified. The couple involved tweeted some messages over Weibo, publicly admitting their romance. Ron urged his fans over Weibo not to attack Viann and added, “If you guys really support me, please respect her.”
Almost instantaneously, Viann tweeted a message dedicated to Ron’s fans, “If it were me who had ruined your childhood dream, I thereby apologize. I believe those who truly support will not leave!”
Ever since Ron stepped into the industry, he has been rumored first with Sire Ma (马赛) and then with Kate Tsui (徐子珊). Before that, he was acquainted with 24-year-old mainland artist, Viann Zhang, while filming Pretty Maid <大丫鬟>.
In June, Ron was snapped by the paparazzi fetching Viann from the airport and driving her back to his apartment. At that time, both of them denied those rumors. However, this morning, the couple behaved out of the norm and disclosed their relationship on Weibo.
Fans’ attack on Viann made Ron unable to hold his silence any longer. He wrote on his own Weibo page, “Those who dote on me, actually I feel that Weibo is a healthy platform for learning. Do not use this platform to scold anyone or write any disrespectful words. Please respect yourself. Respect others and respect me. Hope everyone can calm down a little and respect yourself and be self-disciplined.”
Following his previous tweet, Ron Ng added, “If you guys really support me, please respect her.” Viann soon tweeted back in reply to Ron’s tweet, “This is dedicated to Ron Ng’s fans: If it was me who had ruined your childhood dream, I thereby apologize. I believe those who truly support will not leave!” thus publicly acknowledging their relationship.

Fala Chen and Yuang Cheung in series Lives of Omission
TVB fadan Fala Chen (陳法拉) and newcomer Yuang Cheung (章宇昂) collaborated on a new series for the first time. Fala honestly said that she was deeply attracted to Yuang Cheung’s dancing scene and remarked that this incurred their co-star ‘Dancing King’ Michael Tse’s (謝天華) jealousy. Yuang Cheung who was acting as a villain for the very first time in Lives of Omission <潛行狙擊> was not afraid of leaving a bad impression on viewers and even professed that he hoped to take on more different roles as a challenge to himself.
Fala Chen, who was not familiar with Cantonese language when she first stepped into the industry, got along especially with TVB newcomer Yuang Cheung as they both had the same language-barrier problem initially and had grown up overseas.
New drama, Lives of Omission, marked the first collaboration between Fala and Yuang. Fala even expressed that she was attracted to one of Yuang’s dancing scene in Lives of Omission, “That scene left me feeling surprised. I felt that his preparation and development of character were all good. It (the dancing scene) was so good that Michael and Damien Lau (劉松仁) both gathered to watch. Michael even said that he almost couldn’t stand it any longer and wanted to join in.
If Yuang Cheung didn’t have the capability then he wouldn’t had been able to “agitate” Michael lahs!”
Lucky Enough To Receive Guidance From Seniors
To a newcomer, when filming, the camera’s shooting position, technique of saying dialogues, acting skills and etc has to be learned. Yuang Cheung professed that he was lucky enough to receive guidance from seniors during filming. However, aside from skills on how to film, senior Fala Chen also helped him improve in his Cantonese. Yuang Cheung declared, “I know Fala’s Cantonese wasn’t that good when she first stepped into this industry. Fala urged me to practice more as it wasn’t good to replace with English words when speaking. However, it is much easier when both of us communicate as we both understand what the other party is talking about.”
Unafraid To Act As A Bad Guy
Besides that, Fala also “showed” Yuang the path, informing Yuang of the “rules” one had to obey as a newcomer. As a newcomer in the past, Fala informed Yuang Cheung that one has to rely on his accumulated experience along the way. When acting, one has to know how to keep and release his emotions naturally, to let his character’s realistic personality come out. He must be bold to experiment and cannot be shy.
Acting as a villain in the new drama, Yuang Cheung proclaimed that he was unafraid of leaving audiences with a bad impression, “Well, so long as everyone knows that I’m not as bad in real life. If I only portray as per what my character thinks (and not actually doing those evil things in reality) then I think it should be alright. I will probably be acting something else the next time ’round and hope to have the opportunity to experiment with more different roles in the future.”
Side Note:
Ah K: In case some of you might not know, Yuang Cheung (章宇昂) is the younger brother of Kenny Bee’s notorious ex-wife Teresa Cheung (章小蕙). He has acted before in Dropping by Cloud Nine <你们我们他们> opposite Stephanie Ho. Some background scoop on Yuang Cheung is that unlike Fala who hailed from America, Yuang Cheung came from Canada and is a linguist who speaks English, Chinese, Japanese and French. He entered TVB without his family’s knowledge and did not contact Teresa. There have been rumors that Teresa and Yuang Cheung are half-siblings but unconfirmed as of date.

Shu Qi dating with Lee Hom again
Taiwanese actress Shu Qi and singer Lee Hom broke up three years ago.
However, the couple was recently spotted holding hands while taking a stroll down the street s of New York. They even took the same flight from New York to Hong Kong.
Last month, when Lee Hom visited his parents in New York, Shu Qi posted a map, which showed the journey from Hong Kong to New York, on her microblog.
The picture was accompanied by a caption, "Is a 15-hour flight very long? No, it's not. It's just a footprint away." This caused speculations that Shu Qi hinted that she had gone over to New York with Lee Hom and that it was a declaration of their relationship.
According to a Taiwanese tabloid, when Lee Hom arrived in Taiwan from Dalian on Jul 30, Shu Qi drove her brother's car to the singer's residence and spent the night there. The actress left at noon the next day.
Shu Qi responded to the reports, calling them "extremely absurd", and said that the magazine was making up stories.
On the other hand, Lee Hom's recording company emphasised that the two of them were just friends.
In 2005, Shu Qi and Lee Hom met on the set of the singer's music video 'The First Morning' and fell in love. After dating for three years, the couple broke up when Lee Hom stood the actress up for unknown reasons, which caused their overseas trip to be cancelled.

Cyndi Wang rumoured dating with actor Yao Yuan Hao
On Jul 31, a member of the public reportedly saw singer Cyndi Wang and model-turned-actress Sonia Sui's ex-boyfriend and actor Yao Yuan Hao in Kenting, Taiwan.
According to him, Cyndi was sunbathing with Yuan Hao's friend on the beach initially. When they realised they were being photographed, Cyndi and friend immediately met up with the actor and hid in their car.
Just when everyone thought they would leave, Yuan Hao left the car and hit the beach in his surfwear.
It is believed that Cyndi and Yuan Hao became close friends after the former attended events organised by Yuan Hao's management agency. Cyndi's best friend Momo Chu is also signed under the same company.
Responding to the reports, Cyndi and Yuan Hao expressed that they met in Kenting because Yuan Hao used his time off work to surf and Cyndi was there with her family. The singer also informed her fans that she was in Kenting through her Facebook page.
If she was with her family, why were there only photographs of Cyndi, Yuan Hao and his friend?
"Cyndi was there with her cousin, his wife and their children. Her cousin-in-law did not want to get tanned, so they decided to shop instead," Cyndi's manager explained.
Is there a possibility for their relationship to develop further?
"We've already known each other for over a decade. If we wanted to be together, we would've done so years ago," the pair replied via their managers.

Jay Chou Concert in Malaysia LOUD Music Festival 2011
Asian superstar Jay Chou is not superstitious. Together with Taiwanese band Sodagreen, female vocalists Landy Wen and Cindy Yen, Jay was in Malaysia over the weekends for the LOUD Music Festival 2011.
Opening the festival was Sodagreen. Tsing-fung, the main vocalist, revealed that the group had been eating non-stop since they arrived in Malaysia because the food was too delicious to resist. He added that their target was to gain 3kg each before returning to Taiwan.
For her performance, Landy --decked in a sexy white outfit -- danced with two female dancers on a table. The singer later proudly declared, "I don't think there are many out there who can dance on a table as stable as I can!"
Jul 31 also marked the start of the Hungry Ghost Festival. While most would shun away from doing anything that is taboo during this period, Jay, the last performer of the night, jumped out of a coffin during his first act, driving the crowd wild.
When he sang 'The Last Battle', the witty Jay changed the lyrics into "Thank you for your support in the last 10 years. Will you continue to support me in the next 10 years?"
Later, Jay included a short beat-boxing performance when he sang 'Chinese Porcelain'. The singer once again changed the lyrics to his song, jokingly reminded his fans, "Will those sitting at the top try not to fall asleep?"
During the encore, Jay and Landy sang their hit duet 'Rooftop', sending the concert to yet another climax.
Jerry Yan dating model Celia Zhang
Pan Shuang Shuang, Hannah Quinlivan and Honey Chen.
They were all relatively unknown models until they were linked with famous celebrities, Jay Chou, Aaron Kwok, Show Luo and Raymond Lam respectively.
Another model Celia Zhang might get famous now after she was spotted going to a karaoke with Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan.
When they were about to part ways after their singing session, the pair was seen gazing lovingly into each other's eyes. Jerry even made a "call me" sign before leaving reluctantly.
It is believed that the 27-year-old Celia -- who is 168cm tall and weighs 50kg -- had gone on a few dates with Jerry. The pair is said to be in the "friends but not yet couple" stage.
However, Jerry's management company denied that Celia is the actor's new love, saying that they were just good friends.
On the other hand, Jerry's fans are not jealous about their idol's latest relationship. Instead, they expressed that they were happy for him.
Jerry was previously romantically linked to model Lin Chi-ling and actress Terri Kwan.

Raymond Lam new rumoruted girlfriend Kibby Lau
After the relationship crisis with Mavis Pan, a new rumored girlfriend breaks out again for Raymond Lam. It was reported that the next day after his grandmother's funeral, he went to a nightclub in Lan Kwai Fong and got familiar with 'blueberry' Kibby Lau. He was dancing face to face with her, holding her hand and hugging her. However, Raymond firmly denied doing anything intimate with Kibby and stressed that it was just the camera angle. He then stuttered saying he's not familiar with Kibby.
Yesterday afternoon, Raymond held the autograph session to his new album LF. The event started 30 minutes later than the scheduled time, Raymond denied being late. He said he arrived at the shopping mall on time at 3pm. However, there was a road block outside causing a traffic jam, so he was only able to enter the mall after 10 minutes.
Asked about the reports with him and Kibby? He said in fact there is nothing to explain, don't let the words be intimidating. Raymond said that afternoon at 3pm, he and his colleagues had a meeting on his concert and the new album, but because the album was already completed, he received a phone call later saying that everyone will be doing a small celebration for all their hard work in Lan Kwai Fong. He just went and had a few drinks. That day it was Saturday, there were many TVB artists around, so he doesn't understand why only his photo was published.
As for being photographed dancing, hugging and holding Kibby's hand? He strongly emphasized that it was just a matter of the camera angles, he just chatted with Kibby. He reaffirmed that he was just there for a short while, nothing special and very normal. As this is his first time going to that place, he couldn't believe he was that lucky to get photographed. He joked that people rarely see him going out, so thought it was a big deal. If he goes more, then it be nothing.
It was said he kissed Kibby on the cheek? Raymond said he didn't and that everyone shouldn't make a fuss out of nothing. Will he meet Kibby again? He shouted with a smile, that's crazy, and then stuttered: "We aren't that familiar!" When asked why he had such a good chat with her if he didn't know her well? His face turned black and asked back: "How do you know I had a good chat? Just greetings. (Who initiated the greeting?) It just so happened we met. I have no other response, don't try to provoke more [questions]!" When speaking of Mavis Pan complaining about how his family was very fussy to her during a magazine interview? Raymond said he will not respond, he is currently focused on work.

Nick Cheung and Janice Man in film Nightfall
The film NIGHTFALL (DAI JUI BO) yesterday held a production ceremony. Actors Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Simon Yam Tat Wa, Michael Wong Man Tak, Janice Man Wing Shan, Kay Tse On Kay and director Roy Chow Hin Yeung attended. Cheung Ka Fai wore a medical mask due to his flu while Yam Tat Wa recorded the production video with his camera.
Cheung Ka Fai in the film played a character who was out for vengeance after his prison release. To perform he even dropped to 120 pounds. He said that losing weight and training truly were very inhuman, now the director would first shoot his chase with Brother Wa and the naked prison fight scenes. He was worried that he would not be able to handle them physically because earlier he could not even move furniture at home. He was afraid that he was so light that he would be blown away.
However, Ka Fai said that Janice Man's role had the most potential in the film. Originally in the film she was his girlfriend in the film, but later he realized that actually she was his daughter. Janice Man in order to play this character began preparing two and a half months before. First she lost five pounds in hopes of the down and depressed look. At the same time she had to learn to play the piano.
Yam Tat Wa also had to make a sacrifice. He spent four hours to bleach his facial hair. This time he played a neurotic inspector. Brother Wa and Tse On Kay played a couple in the film and had intimate scenes. Yam Tat Wa would also work with Gianna Jun Ji-Hyun on a new film. They shot a roof scene in over 30 degree Celsius heat. She still stood next to the camera when she was not in scene to assist with his acting.

Aaron Kwok and Rene Liu in film Love in Space
LOVE IN SPACE (CHUEN KAU YIT LUEN) yesterday released the Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Rene Liu (Lau Yeuk Ying) in a space station photo and unveiled the story behind the most difficult kiss scene. Lau Yeuk Ying said that the biggest challenge this time was the wire work, completely relying on limbs and expressions in weightlessness. It was an enormous challenge to her performance.
Lau Yeuk Ying said, "After the first day of wire work, when I came down and heard the director said once more I wanted to cry. It wasn't because I had pressure inside and didn't want to, I just felt like my body really couldn't take it." Kwok Fu Sing revealed, "I fell in love at first sight with the astronaut scene in LOVE IN SPACE. This was a very lucky character, right after reading the script I was looking forward to the production starting sooner. However it was actually shot, I was still a little frightened. The kiss was different from on earth. In space we floated. When we kissed it was even more romantic, but as we worked, when we kissed we didn't know where we floated to! This romantic floating in space kiss scene was hot on wires for six hours. Finally we captured the most touching shot, but this was also the most difficult kiss in my career."

Bosco exposed he was appointed by girlfriend Myolie Wu to look at the car for her, the two caught their eyes on the all new SLK series sports car valued at HK$800,000. He said: "She has to work today, but told me to help her look at the car and see if it's really that good because we're prepared to preorder it. (A gift to her from you?) She makes so much money on her own, no need for me to give her one! (Any discounts?) I hope so, haven't discussed yet. Just now, I joked that they don't have to pay me, let me preorder first, go for a test drive, so I can have the car faster. (Is this you and Myolie's couple car?) No, she personally loves cars herself."
Asked if Bosco's afraid of convertible sport cars after his 'nude photo' incident? He claimed: "The sun roof on this car can turn into dark windows, on my days off I can open it. (Not afraid you'll get photographed without clothes on?) I won't be without clothes randomly. In fact, men can be topless. After I go swimming on the beach, I get in the car without having my shirt on properly too, but I do have my swim trunks on." To take revenge on Ah Di, Yuan Fang seduced Ah Di's first love Huang Da Ke, who is played by Chen Han Wei.
The actress proclaimed "it (the bedroom scene) would be a turning point" in her acting career. Zhou Ying was initially worried about the scene but became relieved, after knowing that she would be acting opposite experienced actor Chen Hanwei.
Ady An and Joe Chen new drama Xiao Xiang Beautiful Life
Taiwanese idols’ prices go up once they go overseas. Rumors say that Joe Chen Qiao-En and Ady An pocket $170,000 and $180,000 RMB per episode (~$800,000 TWD). Therefore, although SETTV’s upcoming drama, “小襄的美麗人生” (Xiao Xiang’s Beautiful Life), was originally considering one of the two stars as its lead, they decided to have Janine Chang take the role in the end.
From the same production crew as “Love You”, the drama has already stirred up a lot of attention on the web. The network’s executive VP Su Li-Mei stated that Ariel Lin was her ideal Xiao Xiang, which led to a war of words between Ariel and Joe fans. Nonetheless, it will be Janine and Peter Ho to star in the new drama.
Drama production director Liu Si-Ming denied rumors of having contacted Ariel and Joe previously, “It was only an online discussion, and no contact was made. After the script was done, we felt that Janine suited the role better. Her schedule is also accomadating and we have no issues with her pay.” Liu Si-Ming pointed out that the production cost for filming dramas in Taiwan is much different than in the mainland. Thus, the actors/actresses’ asking price would be different. However, Liu Si-Ming does not feel that it’s wrong for actors/actresses to be asking for high prices, “This is a free market. The more expensive the actor’s pay is, it means the bigger the market is. We should work even harder to push the industry forward.”

Ariel Lin stop acting in dramas
Many speculated that Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin's health was deteriorating when she suddenly announced that she would stop acting in dramas.
Yesterday, Ariel, who suffered from a pituitary sella cyst two years ago, said that she would be reducing her future workload and had no plans of releasing another record.
While some speculate that the actress may be sick again, others questioned if she had made the decision in the name of love.
Ariel clarified that her ailment is untreatable and may recur even after surgery. Heeding her mother's advice, Ariel decided that her family is more important.
"I still love to act, but my health condition is not as good as it used to be. I think I should work within my health limit and set aside some time for people who are important to me," Ariel said.
When Ariel was filming her new drama series I May Not Love You in April, the actress had frequently fallen ill with tonsil inflammation because of the hot weather and her slow metabolism rate.
"It's tough to be the female lead for a drama series. It's like going through military boot camp, where [one's heart and soul] cannot have proper balance," the actress described.
Ariel's boyfriend Cheng Jia Yao had been visiting her on the set constantly.
When asked if she was departing showbiz because of love, Ariel laughed, "I merely wanted him to understand my job. After all, he may be my family member in future."
However, the actress wished for privacy when it came to marriage.
"I've always lived up to everyone's expectations throughout the years. When it comes to [marriage], I may want to be a little selfish," Ariel said, suggesting that she would not be having a high-profile wedding.

Takeshi Kaneshiro dating with a mysterious girl
Was it a ruse when actor Takeshi Kaneshiro claimed that he is single a few months ago?
Takeshi had always kept a low profile when it came to his love life. However, the heartthrob was spotted with a girl two days ago, fuelling speculations that he is currently dating.
According to Taiwanese media reports, Takeshi had taken a flight from Hong Kong back to Taiwan with his manager on June 23. After he touched down, he was seen heading towards a high-end apartment near the Taiwanese Palace Museum.
The actor reportedly did not leave the apartment for the next three days. On June 24, a girl was spotted entering the residence holding a bag of fast food.
Takeshi was finally seen leaving the apartment on June 26 with the mysterious girl. While Takeshi waited in the car, the girl went to get food.
When reporters approached the girl for an interview, she immediately covered her mouth and avoided the camera. In a surprise gesture, Takeshi helped to block her from the camera. The pair did not respond to any questions asked.
A reporter later noticed that the girl was wearing a ring, which resembled the one Takeshi wore when he promoted Red Cliff in 2009. This fuelled rumours that the pair was seeing each other.
Responding to the rumour, Takeshi's manager agitatedly said, "This is impossible! Definitely impossible! This is so absurd! I'm angry!"
She emphasised that Takeshi is currently single and that the girl was just a friend. The manager also threatened to take legal action if necessary.

When reporters contacted Shirley to confirm, her first reaction was: "Where did you all hear this news? Why is it rumored like that? But I have nothing to say." Until yesterday, Shirley still did not admit nor deny to the pregnancy rumors. She expressed her blessings to Gregory: "I have been with Gregory for a long time, he is a very good man. We are still friends after the breakup, I wish him forever happiness."
Besides the strange "pregnancy" rumor that we cannot tell if it's true or false, Shirley's decision to breakup with Gregory is another huge question mark. According to Gregory's older twin brother Augustine Lee, yesterday morning when he was chatting all night with Gregory, Shirley suddenly sent him a SMS: "I still really love you, miss you a lot." As we can see, Shirley is contradicting herself. Augustine expressed: "I don't know what attitude she has, hope she stops sending so many SMS to my brother, he receives one every day and is emotionally not stabled."
At this point, it can be sure that Gregory is feeling very down. When he accepted a phone interview, he admitted he has not recovered yet and still cannot contact Shirley. When asked about Shirley's 'pregnancy'? He said: "I am not responding, I am really unhappy right now. I don't want to hear things that I don't want to hear." As for Gregory's family, to prevent him from thinking too much, yesterday morning at 4am, they drove him back to TVB City to work on his new series. The cast to The Boxing King all comforted him, Gregory was very grateful: "I really want to thank Raymond Wong, Otto Chan and Tsui Wing. They chatted with me for a long time, I really appreciate their concern. (Shirley broke up with you several months ago, how come last month she still celebrated your birthday with you?) I went to work last night and everyone was shocked too because a few days ago Shirley still came to eat with me."
Although there are changes in the 9 year relationship, still need to continue down the road. Yesterday at 5am, Gregory and his father Ding Yeh appeared at TVB City. He bravely faced the media and accepted interviews. When asked if he knows Andy and if Andy is Shirley's old classmate? Gregory appeared very heartbroken and stressed: "I am not responding." Reporters asked again and again, he said: "I want to first get the details of the issue before I explain. Filming of this series is about to complete, I have no time to go find Shirley." Asked again if he believes Shirley is pregnant? He said in a weak voice: "I don't believe, don't believe."
Gregory expressed Shirley moved to Oscar by the Sea because it was convenient for her to go to work. Asked if he felt there was changes in the relationship at the time? Gregory said: "I did not feel it, she was still so happy asking me if I got enough sleep or had enough to eat. (What is the man's most pain?) I am not responding, after all we never had any arguments, I really don't know what's happening. I am just worried of her current condition." Currently emotionally unstabled, it seems as if there is no turning back for Gregory's relationship with Shirley, he will just have to accept the fact. However, he expressed he still loves her deeply: "No matter what, if Shirley needs anything, I will definitely go help her."
TVB executive Virgina Lok expressed she never heard of Shirley's pregnancy: "She's not pregnant, but she did tell me about the breakup. Their decision was made after careful thought, I hope their work does not get affected anymore."

Ron Ng was shooting action scenes for TVB new series ATF Terrorism earlier and injured the ligaments in his knee. Yesterday he was shooting for the series again in Sha Tin, he frankly said he has to go for physical therapy regularly: "In fact, before I already got hurt from dancing, now it's torn ligaments, anymore danger, then it's really going to be a broken knee. The soft tissue in my knee are also damaged, really hurts after standing for long. I have to be careful with the strength used."
Also, while shooting by the countryside for training scenes, Ron was injured again. He recalled the situation at that time: "I tied a wire on me to climb over the wooden stump to shoot a dangerous action scene. But when I was climbing, once I turned to the side, the railing went into my eye. At the time, I thought my eyeball fell out! Later, I immediately went to the French hospital, the doctor said the soft tissue in my eyeball was damaged, now it still hurts when I look around. I have to use eye drops and go back treatment."
Repeatedly injured, Ron joked that he has to do some worshiping, asked if he'll use stunts double in the future for dangerou camera angles? He insisted on personally doing the scenes himself, but the martial arts instructor knows he's hurt, so will accommodate as much as possible in the movements and camera angles. When speaking of older people get hurt more often, he laughed: "Yes! When we signed the contract, it was clearly said we will get Panda eyes, bags under the eyes and bad skin!"

Elanne Kong in film for Xinhai Revolution 100th anniversary
Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam earlier worked on the Xinhai Revolution 100th anniversary commemorative film YUK FOR FUNG WONG (FIRE BATHING PHOENIX). On the first day she had to work on crying and yelling scenes, after which she had a sore throat and hoarse voice. Luckily the team prepared a lot of throat drops for her. Her co-stars included Liu Kai Chi, Tse Kwan Ho, Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Alan Tam Wing Lun.
Playing a revolutionary, Kong Yeuk Lam yesterday worked on a major scene in a male disguise. She said, "As soon as I started I shot the most emotional scene. I had to yell and cry, the emotional upheaval was enormous. However luckily I was able to reach the director's demands, which was worth a hoarse voice." As for her earlier eye problems, she was worried during her crying scene. "Because my eye hasn't recovered yet, during the crying scene it still hurt. I am very afraid of affecting the recovery progress." In the film, Kong Yeuk Lam was very satisfied with her male disguise. "I like it very much, I thought it was very cool and well matched for me. David Tao becomes One Million Star judge
The new (Chinese) One Million Star recorded their first episode on the 20th. For this season, the show has invited David Tao, Albert Leung (Lin Xi), James Li, and Kay Huang to be the judges. Eighty-four contestants performed and half have already been eliminated. Host Matilda Tao revealed, “The judges eliminated ten contestants in a roll! I saw the other contestants holding hands and crying together backstage just now!”
Matilda calls James the “ruthless judge”; James agreed, “I think I am too ruthless, but then I thought, if they can’t even handle something like this, how are they going to survive in showbiz?” The award-winning lyricist, Albert, who has written over 3000 song lyrics, is a judge for the first time. He expressed that he is a man with compassion, but has discovered his dark side after this show, “It’s the first time I’m deciding someone else’s fate, and can feel the power and desire. After recording the first episode, I realize that I was very despicable in pressing the light (strict on giving points). I prefer those with emotions over techniques.”
It’s also David’s first time being a judge at a singing competition show. He expressed that he would like to hear the contestants sing more of their own works instead of pretending to sing like other singers, “They need to have feelings instead of being like a robot. If they have potential, I won’t rule out the possibility of signing and training them.” However, David’s opinion seem to collide with John Yuan’s, who has been a judge for the show since season 1, “The ones we think are not okay, he actually thinks they’re fine. Maybe they are good contestants, but I think that possibility is very low!” Matilda immediately teased, “We only kept him (John) on the show out of compassion.”
For this new season, Matilda’s pay has also doubled to $250,000 TWD per episode. David, Albert, and James brought their managers, stylists, and assistants along, totalling eighteen people, costing $2 million TWD. As a result, each episode costs $4 million TWD to make. Matilda explained, “We’ve renamed the show to ‘Chinese’ One Million Star because we want to include all Chinese people in the world. We want to find the next Jay Chou, the next David Tao. Unlike other shows that likes to do things for fame, we are very strict on choosing contestants. But our judges will definitely not eliminate a contestant on purpose just to marry them home (referring to Jerry Huang).”

Kenji Wu and Rhydian Vaughan in idol drama Bai Nian Hao He
CTV announced their new self-produced idol drama project yesterday called, “百年好合” (Bai Nian Hao He / rough trans: Together Forever). For a refreshing cast combo, they especially invited singer Kenji Wu and Rhydian Vaughan to star in the drama as chefs. It has been eight years since Kenji’s last drama, but he confidently said, “I will act well.” Kenji has also taken part in the drama’s screenwriting meetings and encourages his costars, “We’re all in the same boat. We must not fail, and we must not drag anyone else down.”
Kenji even provided input on the cast's costumes. Kenji commented, “God! I don’t want to be minding so much either!” but admitted that he had a good feeling about the drama after the audition, “Otherwise if the tone is off, it’ll be very hard (to act in it).” Kenji revealed that he previously had turned down many drama offers due to his music career; after he accepted this drama offer, he has been doing his homework by watching dramas that are currently airing.
Rhydian Vaughan is also a fresh face to TV dramas. He rose to fame after filming the movies “Winds of September” and “Monga”. Rhydian recently graduated from EAST 15 Acting School in United Kingdom and is already loaded with work. Even Kenji feels the pressure from the rising star, “I heard that he has a six-pack, so I’d better work on my eight-pack.” The drama crew also revealed that Kenji and Rydian like to compete to see who arrives to their training sessions the earliest.

Rainie Yang promoting latest drama While We Were Drunk
The Taiwanese actress Rainie Yang was in town over the weekend with co-star Joseph Chang, promoting their latest drama ‘While We Were Drunk’
How often do you get to kiss your high-school sweetheart after you've broken up with each other? For Taiwanese actress Rainie Yang, it was almost 10 years later.
Yesterday, Rainie and co-star Joseph Chang were in town to promote their latest idol drama While We Were Drunk. Upon arriving at the press conference held at the Conrad Centennial Singapore, the chatty actress started off by asking the media if they had lunch.
In While We Were Drunk, Rainie plays Lin Xiao Ru, a girl who accidentally marries Song Jie Xiu (played by Joseph Chang) while they were drunk. The couple quickly realises their error once they sobered up, resulting in them trying to undo every mistake they made in the last 24 hours.
Apart from her "husband" Jie Xiu, there were two other men in Xiao Ru's life -- her ex-boyfriend Ren Yi Xiang (played by Kingone Wang) and her boss-cum-childhood friend Daniel Geng (played by Alien Huang).
Rainie and Alien had dated during their high-school days.
On acting with Alien for the first time, Rainie first let out an uncomfortable giggle before admitting "it's awkward to kiss Alien".
"I think you all know my relationship with him [Alien Huang]. It's the first time we're acting together; even though it was just a peck on the lips, I felt really shy," the 26-year-old replied.
Rainie Yang felt "more sparks" with Joseph Chang
Rainie then said that she felt "more sparks" when acting with Joseph.
"That's probably because the scenes [with Joseph] are more romantic. The one which I shared a kiss with Alien is not very romantic," Rainie explained quickly.
While We Were Drunk is touted as the sequel to Fated to Love You, the most well-received Taiwanese idol drama to date, and boasts of many passionate bed scenes.
However, the pair clarified that their drama "is not a direct sequel to Fated to Love You" and had a vastly different plot from its predecessor.
"There would definitely be comparisons [between the various dramas]; but all we [the actors] can do is to do our best," Rainie answered.
Commenting on the intimate scenes, Joseph said, "I started my first day of filming with the most passionate scene in the drama. It helped to build our chemistry with each other and we don't really feel awkward with each other later."
Many firsts for Rainie Yang
This was the first time Rainie sported a short hair cut in a drama. In all of her other dramas, where she was the female lead, the actress had long hair.
Rainie admitted that she was afraid of how the audience would take her new image initially. However, she later felt that "if Xiao Ru [Rainie's character] had long hair, it wouldn't be her anymore", suggesting that the actress was satisfied with the final result.
The short hair cut definitely gave Rainie a more matured look, which fitted her role as somebody's wife -- another first for her.
When asked if she did anything to prepare for her role, Rainie said, "I'm actually similar to my character, in that we've not been married before. I didn't do any special homework on how to portray Xiao Ru because she was thrown into marriage suddenly; so I just went along with the situations in the drama."
The actress let on that she did, however, take a month to get used to wearing the wedding ring -- which was encrusted with real diamonds -- on her ring finger. She would take every chance she had, including during meals, to take it off her finger.
While We Were Drunk premieres on Jun 26, every Sunday, 8pm on E City (StarHub TV Channel 825).

At the after party, JJ, who looked visibly surprised when Jay's name was announced, admitted to having high hopes of winning as "David always calls me JJ in private".
