Speedone Racing Team met with reporters the afternoon of 2009-06-11. The main racers Tan Zhuo Yong and Jimmy Lin talked to reporters about the team’s preparation for the race tomorrow. Jimmy said even though he has left China rally racing for 2 yrs he hasn’t left racing. He won three 1st places and one 2nd place in Zhuhai last yr. He thinks his best prospects is the race on paved roads in Beijing next week.
Jimmy said, “After I finished the last race in 07 I was too busy in showbiz and had to leave rally racing. I told myself I’ll come back sooner or later. I work with Tan Zhuo Yong this time because we are good friends and the team also provides me with a spectacular brand new Mitsubishi EVO10 race car. It's very tempting.”
Tan zhuo Yong said this race car is totally remodeled by himself. Because no one has done it before so there were no data. The team worked on it for 4 months. It’s the first one in China. TOM reporters checked the list of race cars and indeed Jimmy’s car is the one and only Mitsubishi EVO10, very spectacular!”
But Jimmy laughed and said “This car came too early because the roads in Jiangling are too narrow. It can’t put forth its full potential. If it's on paved roads in Beijing then I think I could be the fastest among all the racers.”
Unfortunately, Jimmy can only be in the first 3 races because he will have a very important concert tour in the 2nd half of the year. The time and locations are yet to be decided. But one thing for sure, as long as he is in a race he and Hanhan will be the center of attention. Crowds will gather around them in the pit.
