Miriam Yeung engaged to be married
The winner of 2009 Hong Kong's Most Popular Female Singer award, Miriam Yeung, has confirmed that she is getting married in June to businessman Real Ding Zi Gao, according to an Oriental Sunday report.
The self-termed "mature woman" said her "next wish was to get married" when she went onstage to receive the Most Popular Female Singer at TVB's Jade Solid Gold Awards early this year.
According to sources, at that time she had already accepted businessman Real Ding's marriage proposal and had applied for a week's leave to hold her wedding.
When approached by Oriental Sunday a week ago, Real Ding neither confirmed nor denied the June marriage.
In fact the pair had already been dating in secret for a year. Due to Miriam Yeung's career engagements, the pair had feared coming out in the open might kill the romance, the Oriental Sunday reported.
A close friend of Real Ding said that the romance was exposed because Miriam's mother was too excited. The source said, "Miriam's mother was delirious with joy because her daughter was getting married."
"In the end, she told everyone around her that she was marrying off her daughter in June," the close friend said.
Miriam Yeung had hoped to hold a grand wedding in Hong Kong. But Real Ding's grandfather, who has businesses in Shanghai and lives there, requested for the lovebirds to hold their wedding in Shanghai.
Miriam Yeung complied, but with a condition of her own - to have children immediately after the wedding.
According to sources, Miriam Yeung has already begun "preparations."
Besides visiting Chinese physicians, she has also exhorted Real Ding to quit smoking, drinking and visiting nightclubs.
More importantly, she has also advised her future husband to watch his diet and do exercises to stock up his "goods."
