Shu Qi dating with Lee Hom again

Shu Qi Wang Lee Hom

Taiwanese actress Shu Qi and singer Lee Hom broke up three years ago.

However, the couple was recently spotted holding hands while taking a stroll down the street s of New York. They even took the same flight from New York to Hong Kong.

Last month, when Lee Hom visited his parents in New York, Shu Qi posted a map, which showed the journey from Hong Kong to New York, on her microblog.

The picture was accompanied by a caption, "Is a 15-hour flight very long? No, it's not. It's just a footprint away." This caused speculations that Shu Qi hinted that she had gone over to New York with Lee Hom and that it was a declaration of their relationship.

According to a Taiwanese tabloid, when Lee Hom arrived in Taiwan from Dalian on Jul 30, Shu Qi drove her brother's car to the singer's residence and spent the night there. The actress left at noon the next day.

Shu Qi responded to the reports, calling them "extremely absurd", and said that the magazine was making up stories.

On the other hand, Lee Hom's recording company emphasised that the two of them were just friends.

In 2005, Shu Qi and Lee Hom met on the set of the singer's music video 'The First Morning' and fell in love. After dating for three years, the couple broke up when Lee Hom stood the actress up for unknown reasons, which caused their overseas trip to be cancelled.

Shu Qi kiss Liu Ye in film A Beautiful Life

Shuqi Liu Ye

Shu Qi in A BEAUTIFUL LIFE not only cried the most in her film career but also drank the most. In the first scene at the karaoke she had to keep drinking, accidentally entered the male bathroom and vomited on the back of Liu Ye who was relieving himself.

To Shu Qi, she was able to handle the drunk scene. However when she had to jump on Liu Ye's back she almost lost her life. Because Liu Ye was tall, jumping onto Liu Ye's back was already somewhat difficult. After the jump she had to fall onto the concrete ground, which made the scene even more difficult. In another scene Liu Ye took Shu Qi home and Shu Qi forced a kiss on Liu Ye. Shu Qi joked that she felt like a mad woman as she grabbed Liu Ye to kiss, but Liu Ye kept pushing her away hard. Because Liu Ye had to appear to be a gentleman, Liu Ye had to look unwilling. Liu Ye said, "This was contrary to what I was thinking. I would push away a pretty woman like Shu Qi? The director is treating me too well?"

Shu Qi and Zhang Zi Yi to write on each other’s nude chests?

shuqi

HONG KONG: Taiwanese actress Shu Qi has turned down a role in Chinese star Zhang Ziyi’s English movie “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan”.

Based on a novel by Lisa See, “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” is jointly produced by Zhang, Wendy Deng, wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Florence Sloan, wife of MGM chairman Harry Sloan, and also stars the Chinese actress.

The movie tells a story about a community of women with bound feet living in a remote Hunan province seeking companionship from one another. As they developed close friendships, the women developed a secretive Nu Shu language as a form of communication and to keep their secrets from the men.

In the film, Snow Flower, who was supposed to be played by Shu Qi, develops a lifelong friendship with Lily (Zhang) and there is a nude scene which shows them writing on each other’s chest in the Nu Shu.

Though baring all is nothing new to Shu Qi, a former soft-porn actress, she reportedly turned down the role because of the scene.

The Taiwanese star, who started her career in soft porn films, proved herself to be a credible actress after winning the Best Actress Golden Horse Award in 2005 and has no intentions of stripping unless she is really attracted to the script.

Hopefully, Shu Qi will not regret her decision.

Shu Qi famously rejected a role in Lee Ang’s “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, which later went to Zhang and catapulted her to international fame.

Zhang is said to be disappointed with Shu Qi’s decision and is now looking for an actress to replace her.

The film will be helmed by “Joy Luck Club” director Wayne Wang and shooting is expected to begin early next year in China. – CNA/fa

Shu Qi jaded to sex and violence

shuqi

At the Cannes Film Festival for the first time as part of a jury on the red carpet, Taiwanese actress Shu Qi thoroughly displayed her spellbinding appeal.

In an interview with the media after the award ceremony, Shu expressed that while she learnt a lot from the experience of being part of the festival jury, she has became jaded to sex and violence after watching the competing films.

As a judge, Shu had to watch films and discuss them with the rest of the panel. As a result, she had only managed to catch two hours of sleep over two days, and had to decline the invitation to the post festival celebration. Having been to too many events lately, Shu said her cheek muscles had cramps from smiling.

Being a Chinese among the Westerners, Shu had to depend on a translator to express her views about the films and facilitate discussion.

Of the competing films, Shu said she was initially disgusted and intimidated by some gory scenes, but later became jaded to the sex and violence after watching the artistic films that mainly portray such scenes.

Shu said though she managed to learn a lot on the job, it was too tiring and she will think twice about being on the jury again.

The 62nd Cannes Film Festival drew its curtains on Monday.
