Takeshi Kaneshiro dating with a mysterious girl

Was it a ruse when actor Takeshi Kaneshiro claimed that he is single a few months ago?

Takeshi had always kept a low profile when it came to his love life. However, the heartthrob was spotted with a girl two days ago, fuelling speculations that he is currently dating.

According to Taiwanese media reports, Takeshi had taken a flight from Hong Kong back to Taiwan with his manager on June 23. After he touched down, he was seen heading towards a high-end apartment near the Taiwanese Palace Museum.

The actor reportedly did not leave the apartment for the next three days. On June 24, a girl was spotted entering the residence holding a bag of fast food.

Takeshi was finally seen leaving the apartment on June 26 with the mysterious girl. While Takeshi waited in the car, the girl went to get food.

When reporters approached the girl for an interview, she immediately covered her mouth and avoided the camera. In a surprise gesture, Takeshi helped to block her from the camera. The pair did not respond to any questions asked.

A reporter later noticed that the girl was wearing a ring, which resembled the one Takeshi wore when he promoted Red Cliff in 2009. This fuelled rumours that the pair was seeing each other.

Responding to the rumour, Takeshi's manager agitatedly said, "This is impossible! Definitely impossible! This is so absurd! I'm angry!"

She emphasised that Takeshi is currently single and that the girl was just a friend. The manager also threatened to take legal action if necessary.

Donnie Yen and Takeshi Kaneshiro in film One Armed Swordsman

Director Peter Chan will remake the Jimmy Wang Yu classic “One Armed Swordsman” bringing to life a more bloody and cruel tale of the original movie.

Donnie Yen will play the well known character, he will be joined by Japanese-Chinese actor Jing Chengwu.

Yen is also choreographing the movies fight scenes and there are plans to start Jing Chengwu training before shooting begins later this year.

Donnie is set to play a brutal and cruel character who is on the run, but undergoes a transformation by Jing Chengwu when he is captured.

In the new film, Super Hot Takeshi Kaneshiro will play a detective chasing after Universe Strongest one-armed swordsman Donnie Yen. In contrast to the heroic roles he usually plays, Donnie Yen will overturn his image to become a ruthless serial killer! His character is a man who has been wanted by the government for half his life. During an escape, he meets a detective played by Takeshi Kaneshiro, who guided him back to the right path in the end.

Director Peter Chan believes Takeshi Kaneshiro is a perfect fit to play the role of the detective. They previously collaborated on 2007's The Warlords, and will work with Donnie Yen for the first time. Since Donnie Yen is also the stunt coordinator of this movie, his costar Takeshi Kaneshiro is expected to undergo some martial arts training before filming begins.

Shooting begins next month.

Takeshi, Zhou Xun and Jay Chou in The Smiling Proud Wanderer

Renowned director and action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping is busy trying hard to raise S$40million to shoot the wuxia remake of The Smiling, Proud Wanderer, plus cast his dream team of actors in including actor Takeshi Kaneshiro as Linghu Chong, actress Zhou Xun as Ren Yingying, and singer Jay Chou as Dongfang Bubai.

The new remake of the classic novel by Louis Cha is slated to begin filming at the start of 2010 after the Lunar New Year festivities. In the meantime, Yuen does not plan to accept any other directing jobs in order to concentrate wholly in producing the series.

Yuen has expressed that 36-year-old Kaneshiro best fits the role of the lead character, Linghu Chong. Both parties are currently engaged in talks and if the actor agrees, Yuen plans to send him to Beijing for martial arts training sessions. As the show concentrates heavily on martial arts, Yuen hopes that the main actors will receive martial arts training before filming begins to present a more lifelike portrayal of the story.

He also has plans to invite Chinese actress, Zhou Xun, to take up the female lead role as Ren Yingying. He was so impressed by her acting chops and gracefulness in his previous collaboration with her, True Legend, and decided to work with her again.

As both Kaneshiro and Zhou previously collaborated as lovers in the movie, Perhaps Love, he feels that they have enough tacit understanding of each other to bring out the best of their lovebirds characters onscreen.

Apart from these, Yuen hopes that Jay Chou will take on the last remaining lead role as Dongfang Bubai in the show. The chance of Yuen gaining a nod of agreement from Jay lies relatively high as the latter is in awe and respect of the director. The Taiwanese performer also previously agreed to guest star in Yuen’s movie, True Legend.
